Hi, sounds like the bike hasn't had the TPS warranty carried out (stalling etc.)??

As for the exhaust popping, that's pretty normal for big singles. The side panels do tend to fade on the bikes slightly.

Wot he said. As with many Yamahas, the finish isn't that great, especially the decals. Your XT will always pop and bang on the overrun - it's a "feature".

There are two issues you need to get checked: an upgrade to the TPS (throttle position sensor) and engine ECU. All dealers will be aware of them, and should fix them FOC - they will just need your engine/frame number to check the lists and see if your bike is one of those affected. With both these mods done, it should improve the low speed running and eliminate the stalling. Fiddling with the CO setting (another thread) may help to improve matters further.

FWIW, mine has had both the mods done and doesn't stall at all, although it is still a bit snatchy at low speeds. One mod I would highly recommend is fitting a 14-tooth gearbox sprocket. It doesn't alter the characteristics of the engine (obviously), but it means that, at the speeds you actually ride the bike, the engine is in a slightly higher rev range, and out of the problem zone.
